Networked light 2.0

Connected Lighting from the basement to the roof

In stairwells, underground garages and ancillary rooms such as laundry rooms or bicycle rooms, lights are far too often on without being needed. It was no different in the houses of the Schönau housing cooperative on Riedenholzstrasse in Zurich. The cooperative decided to put an end to the waste of energy and at the same time increase the comfort of the residents. With the LED lighting system from STEINEL, which networks the lights in the underground car park, stairwells and adjoining rooms, it got both. And is also making a contribution to a sustainable future with its buildings.

Light accompaniment throughout the house? This is how it works.

Solution

When residents of Riedenholzstrasse leave their flats, they are assured of reliable lighting throughout the building. The light of the intelligent LED sensor luminaires switches on and off automatically wherever people are present. Early enough for people to feel safe and for as long as necessary. The same applies to the side rooms and the underground car park. The so-called swarm intelligence makes it possible for the luminaires in the different applications to communicate with each other. Daylight incidence is also important: if there is enough natural light during the day — which is especially true for the staircase — the luminaires do not even switch on.
Commissioning as well as controlling the Connected Lighting solution itself is done via the STEINEL Connected App.
The consequence of this intelligently networked senor lighting system is obvious: in contrast to the FL lights that provided light before the renovation, the building cooperative saves massively on electricity costs. And it ensures that the residents feel safe throughout the house and at all times.

It’s the combination that makes it!

Connected Lighting combines sensor technology with LED technology. The luminaires are wirelessly networked via Bluetooth and intelligently controlled. Wireless networking via Bluetooth allows the lighting systems in different rooms to be connected to each other and included in the intelligent lighting control. In this way, the stairwell light is coupled with the light in the underground car park and the adjoining rooms and controlled in an energy-efficient manner.

»Since the lighting refurbishment, the light in the stairwell and underground car park is much more pleasant. The light reacts quickly and selectively, which also means that a lot of energy can be saved.« Philipp Manser, Building Maintenance Building Cooperative Schönau
Hello
With Connected Lighting, they rely on state-of-the-art technology.

Sustainable retrofitting

The CO2 emissions of this sensor-controlled LED luminaire are 20 times lower than those of conventional fluorescent tubes.

Save more electricity

The switch to LED is good. Switching to smart LED luminaires with sensor is better and definitely pays off.

Investment costs under control

Thanks to better luminous efficacy, fewer luminaires are required, which reduces the amount of investment.

Almost maintenance free

The constant replacement of luminaires is history. On the other hand, the longevity of the intelligent lighting solution is guaranteed.

Everything is compatible here

Simple planning

Additional sensor planning is not necessary. A sensor is installed in each luminaire, the detection range is no problem thanks to the sensor density.

Reliance on Connected Lighting

You can rest assured that compatibility is guaranteed thanks to intelligent and modern technology.

Wireless networking

With Bluetooth, the lighting systems in different rooms can be connected to each other and included in the intelligent lighting control.

Very clever

Thanks to Bluetooth networking, you have full flexibility in grouping the luminaires according to user needs.

Networked light is this simple

No additional cables

Setting and commissioning with Bluetooth are child’s play. The STEINEL Connect App on your smartphone is all you need.

Optional emergency light

An emergency light module can be retrofitted very easily. The emergency light and status LEDs are fitted as standard in all luminaires.

Flexible light intensity

The brightness for main and ambient light is adjustable, the indirect light can be switched on optionally.

On the road together

Whenever you need support — we are there for you!

How we networked light

Intelligent lighting control has never been so easy. Thanks to Bluetooth Mesh, all STEINEL Bluetooth products can be networked together and combined into lighting groups. All that’s needed is the free STEINE Connect app. Energy savings and efficiency are assured.

Now it’s time to work together.

I’m Dave Hunziker. Let’s talk together.

I look forward to your call.
